Mexico Took My Virginity! My First Time Out Of The Country!

Love, Light, & Magick

I’m back, baby!

Let me sum up my vacation in one word: Ah-Mazing!!

Being near the ocean, or any body of water, does wonders for my soul. The ocean quickly became my inspiration and mentor.

Every morning I sat on the balcony and meditated. And boy, the ocean had plenty of things to say to me. It inspired me. It encouraged me to keep going forward. It reminded me that I was as vast…as deep and beautiful, just like it.

IMG_2596One of my favorite things that I did was to stand on the shore with my hands in the water and actually feeling the pull of the ebb and flow before the next wave crashed around my lower body. It showed me its’ power and I realized how dangerous it could be, but peaceful at the same time.

I was in awe of it. There were plenty of times (even as I type this) that my eyes filled up with tears from the beauty of it all. It was almost like a lover; I didn’t want to leave it. When I was away from it, I couldn’t wait until I could see it again. My eyes kept turning to look at it constantly. I felt safe in it.

While I live in a state that is adored for its’ mountain ranges, I realize that I am an ocean’s girl.

(Cue the violin music in 3…2…1…)

Okay, okay, okay…

Enough with the sappy talk. Let me fill you in on some of the things that we did.

I snorkeled for the first time…EVER! And to be honest, I loved every moment of it. I almost panicked the first time I went into the water, but I got the hang of it. The fish were so beautifully colored in perfect shades of blue and yellow. And even though we didn’t go far out to see any turtles, I did see stingray.

We visited Tulum, the ruins of a walled, ancient Mayan city, located on a bluff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. It had such a energy about it. We got trapped in the rain while we were there, but that made it have a more authentic experience, in my opinion.

I also tried zip lining for the first time into the ocean water and it is definitely something that I will do again!

We walked the strip and it reminded me of a mini Vegas. So many people dancing around having a wonderful time. It was truly energizing. I mean, where else can you find a storefront named, “Drugs And Deli,” a place where you can get a turkey sammich and some Xanax.

And speaking of sandwiches…

I ate good foooooooooood!! I mean, “Damn-this-shit-is-good-let-me-smack-your-mama” good! Don’t believe me, well take a gander at this beautiful plate. This is quail…it was my first time having it and it was delicious.  I am a Salmon lover, so I usually get it everywhere I go…but I wanted to try something new on this trip and I was not disappointed at all.

And although I don’t eat sweets, I ate this treat damn near every night I was in Mexico. It became an addiction.

This trip meant a lot to me because I got to spend time with my sister and brother. Whenever we get around each other, all we do is joke and laugh! They are some of the biggest nuts that have ever walked the planet, but so am I, and that’s why we are family!

The other new thing we tried while we were there…FISH SPA THERAPY!!

These little jokers eat the dead skin cells off of your legs and feet and although the first few minutes tickle like hell, our tired feet felt soft and energized again for our next adventure.

All in all, I am so glad that we took this trip. It was an adventure from the moment my plane landed until I had to return to reality. Thank you for allowing me to share with you my experience.

I hope, if you’ve never been to Cancun, that you jump on the plane and go the first chance that you get.

It was definitely an adventure! And until we meet again Cancun…VIVA MEXICO!!!20160624_124104
